A comfortable refuge in the heart of the Osa jungle
Â
At the end of the road and at the beginning of the majestic rainforest is an idyllic house and garden perched above the Rio Tigre and surrounded by a private nature reserve and Corcovado National Park.
The house offers an original and cosy refuge. Very open to the outdoors, it is designed to make the most of an inspiring environment to observe and explore the natural of the rainforest. The site is ideal for reconnecting with primitive nature and also allows for many activities and hikes.
Welcome to the heart of the jungle of the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica, an area presented by the National Geographic as “The most intense biologically place on earth” with more than 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity.
The house is very open to the outside and offers a large living room with comfortable armchairs and hammocks, two bedrooms upstairs with views of the river, the tropical garden and the rainforest.
It is surrounded by a vast tropical garden with paths, bridges and river. There is even a pool in the middle of the vegetation where it is possible to refresh yourself.
The site also allows for many activities and hikes around the house, in particular:the tropical garden; El Rio Tigre, its waterfalls and gold miners; the Bolita Reserve and its numerous trails; and even a little-known entrance to the Corcovado… We can inform you, advise you and organize for you these off-the-beaten-track activities
Jeremy share his secret corner with you
Jeremy, the owner, and his family discovered this quiet corner of the world in 1996, while hiking in Costa Rica. Realizing they had stumbled upon an enchanted piece of paradise off the beaten path, they purchased the land that had previously been a rustic gold miner’s camp.
Construction of Casa Aire Libre began a year later, with the vision of creating a simple space for them, their friends and family to enjoy the magic of the rainforest, while unplugging from the hectic pace of modern life.
